Melissa Finelli is a jeweler whose creative journey began in Boston's South End, where the vibrant community of artists and craftspeople helped shape her artistic voice. She studied jewelry making at North Bennet Street School and sculpture at the Museum School in Boston, combining a love of three-dimensional form with the intimate scale of jewelry. Now based in Vermont, she continues to create curious wearable sculptures inspired by movement, craftsmanship, and the joy of discovery.
Working primarily through hand fabrication, Melissa creates pieces that celebrate movement, balance, and meticulous craftsmanship. There is something deeply satisfying about moving metal—the process allows her to work spontaneously, letting one idea lead naturally to the next. By manipulating metal to create movement and space within solid forms, she transforms rigid materials into playful, organic compositions.
Drawn to both the engineering challenges and the inherent obsessiveness of creating on such a small scale, Melissa delights in constructing intricate pieces that invite closer inspection. Each work is a miniature sculpture—thoughtfully engineered, carefully fabricated, and designed to spark curiosity, conversation, and a sense of wonder.
