Painting is my first language – the one that tells a story when words are inadequate. It is how I translate my personal history into emotional imagery and fleeting moments into something that lasts.
Through my work, I explore the intersection of memory, emotion, and place, using bold textures and vibrant colors imbued with movement and light to evoke scenes that are both familiar and abstract. Significantly influenced by both the French Impressionist and American Abstract Expressionist schools, my style has been described as Jackson Pollock meets Claude Monet – an unlikely pairing that reflects my passion for marrying structure with spontaneity.
Each of my paintings is a sensory experience, shaped by both natural and supernatural inspiration. I embrace a dynamic and intuitive approach to painting, allowing the marks, contrasting colors and texture to create a sense of depth and energy, inviting the viewer to step into a realm that is visceral and dreamlike. Rather than depicting a literal representation, I try to capture the essence of a place or moment—the way it lingers in our minds, shifting and evolving with time.
