Marianne Angersbach Kinzer is a German-born American artist. She works in watercolor, a medium that echoes the fluidity of nature.

Marianne has maintained a regular practice in art making for 40 years. She was born in Munich. She studied art at a variety of institutions, among them the University of Art in Berlin, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Art Students League in New York. She holds a Masters Degree in Liberal Arts.

M. A. Kinzer, a world traveler grew up close to Frankfurt, lived in Berlin, and later spent four years in Istanbul before coming to the United States in 2000. The first ten years in the US she spent in Chicago. Since 2010 her home is Boston and Truro, MA.

Marianne A. Kinzer's focus is the role of water in all of life's expressions. Her work ranges from larger abstract paintings to smaller close-ups of nature. The realist work is done from observation while the abstracts are inspired by flow and drops, and the idea that water nurtures and connects all of life.

In 2023 she was invited to present her work about water at the World Water Conference at the UN in New York. In 2021 she was featured as an artist inspired by water in the 'The Provincetown Independent.' In 2015 she exhibited her water paintings at Brown University, publication: 'Art at Watson Institute.' 2013 she wrote about 'Water in Oaxaca.' Havard Review of Latin America.

She has shown her work on three continents, Europe, Asia and North America, starting in 1988.

Her abstract paintings are on view in galleries, art institutions, and libraries. She participates regularly in exhibitions by watercolor societies showing her realist watercolors of fruit, flowers. Since 2022 she has been a member of Shared Habitat Earth, a group of artists focused on environmental issues: www.sharedhabitatearth.org.
