As a retired surgeon ( Prof. Emeritus Boston University School of Medicine) Robert M. Beazley has moved his skillful hands to the lathe and carpenter's bench. He has attended the Center for Fine Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine and numerous residencies at Arrowmont, Haystack and the Anderson Ranch in Colorado. Friends of the Public Gardens of Boston have often requested his wood turned vessels to be made from the dead Elm trees they have saved as presents and awards to their Board and volunteers. This meaningful connection to the dead trees of Boston makes Montague Woods special.
